oneMen pioneers

oneMen supports pioneers working for others in different ways. The pioneers we support include those working with women(trafficking), (street)children, and freedom of the press.

Women

In many developing countries, women are in a vulnerable position. They have fewer rights than men, face more obstacles to earning an income independently, and abuse, violence, rape, and being forced into prostitution are the order of the day. This means that women need help urgently. OneMen is supporting the fight against trafficking in its campaign ‘oneMen supports woMen’. Worldwide, 4.5 million women are victims of trafficking.

Children

In many places in the world, children face child labour, live on the streets, are being exploited sexually or being forced into prostitution at a very young age. oneMen wants to help these children and supports pioneers who are working to improve their chances.

Freedom of the Press

Freedom of the press cannot be taken for granted. In some countries the government works against journalists, in printed media as well as radio- and TV- programmes. Journalists or their family members are threatened and tortured, and offices set on fire. Without freedom of the press, people may read lies and biased messages in their newspapers. The government can go ahead with its activities without being held accountable. This is why oneMen supports pioneers working for freedom of the press.
